b.' Doc' (Tim Anderson?) - what a handsome boy! In protected, dappled light,
should be a very elegant plant |

On the court by 8:30A or so, the humidity and heat were quite a challenge |

b. 'Bandit' from PHOE, in shade the leaves are a deep beautiful green |
Bought some orchid bark, perlite and I'll sterilize some very nice potting soil, full of organic matter-- mix it up and test with some rhizomes. Also bought an azalea pot, the type with the holes on the side of the pot, with some moss covering the holes it might make a nicely aerated home for someone.
Begonia a la ruski-- a lot of nice begonia pics:

An old standard green house soil less potting mix is the following:
ReplyDeleteOne part peat moss
One part perlite
One part vermiculite
This is a very light, sterile mix that retains moisture well yet drains quickly. The mix is not cheap to make and hence the nursery industry switched to less expensive composted materials.
Thsnks for the recipe. It sounds like this would be a great starter medium for rhizomes..
